The People's Pantry was established in March 2018, to fight food poverty and reduce food waste in Market Weighton, Pocklington and the surrounding areas of the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Our aim is to help support local individuals and families who are struggling to put food on their table and, at the same time, reduce the amount of surplus food going to waste.

Run by volunteers, we rely on the kindness and generosity of local residents and businesses and other local charitable organisations for donations of food, toiletries and cleaning products, for which we are most grateful.

Prior to the current pandemic, we operated open sessions at each of our venues however we are now operating an appointment and collection service in order to protect our service users and volunteers.
